Overview Processing Aids
Our range of processing aids for tire manufacturers comprises Tire Inside Paints, Tire Outside Paints and other products.
The reliable demolding of a polymeric material from the mold is crucial for cost-effective manufacturing of rubber parts. Mould release agents are used for the treatment of moulds or workpieces to prevent adhesion during vulcanization.
Demolding agents, also known as mold release agents, can be classified into permanent products and those that are sprayed before each or every second demolding. The PROMOL® mold release agents are applied to the metallic mold in a highly diluted aqueous form before vulcanization. Uniform distribution is crucial, while over-application should be strictly avoided. PROMOL® release agents are characterized by high cleanliness on the mold surface, significantly extending the mold's lifespan in terms of necessary cleaning cycles.
Mold release agents are divided into silicone-free and silicone-containing products The choice of substance depends on the type of finished article.
Form cleaning is facilitated when only single-release PROMOL® mould release agents are used and no semi-permanent demolding agents in addition. In most cases, chemical cleaning of the mold can be avoided, and simple mechanical cleaning is sufficient.
compression moulding
PROMOL® 1265 provides a reliable release effect for various applications in the manufacture of rubber articles (e.g. automotive rubber parts, shoe soles, pre-cured treads for tire retreading ...). PROMOL® 1265 allows for the moulding of rubber articles with an averagely complex shape due to its good separation effect. The product offers numerous advantages:

PROMOL® PK is a single-release, water based, silicone containing mould release agent, providing very efficient release effect for various applications in rubber manufacturing (molded rubber parts, pre-cured treads, shoe soles, solid tires)
The product offers numerous advantages:
PROMOL® PD is a very effective mould lubricant and used in a wide range of applications where a matte surface finish is required.
injection moulding
PROMOL® PL/E is a water-soluble concentrate of milky appearance. It is very effective as a mould lubricant and is especially used for injection moulding, and in the manufacture of articles which are to be painted or bonded after vulcanisation.
In tire manufacturing, demolding agents are also required. The molded tire blanks are placed in specialized molds and then subjected to the vulcanization process. During this process, the tires are heated to temperatures between 140°C and 160°C. The vulcanization process causes the polymer chains in the rubber to cross-link. To maintain the inner shape during the vulcanization process, an inflatable rubber bladder, known as the "Bladder" in German, is inserted into the tire blank and inflated with air.
To facilitate the separation of the bladder (interior) and the tire mold (exterior) from the finished tire after vulcanization, tire inside release agents or tire outside release agents can be applied to the green tire.
